The Legal Complaints and Regulation (2016 Act) (Commencement No.1) Order (Northern Ireland) 2025

This Order brings into operation the Legal Complaints and Regulation Act (Northern Ireland) 2016, other than sections 9, 19(2)(c), 38(2)(c) and paragraph 2(4) of Schedule 4 to that Act, on 1st September 2025.

These Regulations bring into force section 124 of the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 (c. 18) (“the 2025 Act”). These are the second commencement regulations made under the Act.

The Customs (Tariff and Miscellaneous Amendments) (No. 3) Regulations 2025

This instrument makes amendments to subordinate legislation previously made under the Taxation (Cross-border Trade) Act 2018 (“TCTA”), which provided for the United Kingdom’s Customs, Value Added Tax (“VAT”) and Excise regimes to be in place after the end of the Transition Period following the withdrawal of the United Kingdom (“UK”) from the European Union (“EU”).

The Financial Services and Markets Act 2023 (Capital Buffers and Macro-prudential Measures) (Consequential Amendments) Regulations 2025

This instrument makes technical amendments to legislation following the revocation and restatement of the Capital Requirements (Capital Buffers and Macro-prudential Measures) Regulations 2014 (S.I. 2014/894) (“the 2014 Capital Buffers Regulations”). The purpose of the amendments is to ensure that the amended legislation will continue to operate effectively after the revocation and restatement of the 2014 Capital Buffers Regulations.

The Markets in Financial Instruments (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 2025

When the UK left the European Union (EU), the body of EU legislation that applied directly in the UK at the point of exit was transferred onto the UK statute book by the European Union Withdrawal Act 2018 (EUWA). This is known as assimilated law. The Financial Services and Markets Act 2023 (FSMA 2023) repeals assimilated law relating to financial services, subject to commencement.

The Online Safety Act 2023 (Qualifying Worldwide Revenue) Regulations 2025 (the ‘legislation’) have been drafted by Ofcom and provide for how the qualifying worldwide revenue (‘QWR’) of a provider of a regulated service is to be determined.

These Regulations bring into force provisions of Parts 1 and 3 of the Media Act 2024 (c. 15) (“the Act”). This is the third set of commencement regulations made under the Act.
