Assent Risk Management Raises £547 for Essex Wildlife Hospital

This festive season, the Assent Risk Management team came together to support a charity close to our hearts: South Essex Wildlife Hospital. We’re delighted to share that, thanks to the enthusiasm, generosity, and team spirit across our organisation, we raised a total of £547 to support their incredible work.

Why We Chose Essex Wildlife Hospital

Our staff voted to support South Essex Wildlife Hospital after learning about the essential work they do for local wildlife. Founded in 1995, the hospital is the only facility of its kind in Essex, London, and Kent, and admits over 10,000 injured, sick, or orphaned wild animals each year, while also responding to more than 20,000 calls for help annually.

Their dedicated team—led by founder Sue and supported by an onsite vet—works tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate, and release animals back into the wild, ensuring no native wildlife species is ever turned away. Their work ranges from treating foxes, badgers, hedgehogs, and deer to caring for waterfowl, birds of prey, reptiles, and even seals.

With no government funding, the hospital relies entirely on public donations, and the centre costs over £1,000 a day to operate. That made our fundraising efforts feel all the more meaningful.

How We Raised the Money

Throughout December, our Assent team organised a series of fun and festive fundraising activities:

🎁 Chocolate Hamper Raffle
🧸 Jellycat Seal Teddy Raffle
🍬 Guess the Sweets in the Jar Competition
🎄 Christmas Jumper Competition
❓ Christmas Quiz

Each activity was run by different members of our team, making it a true company-wide effort. Whether people bought raffle tickets, donned their brightest jumpers, or joined in the quiz, every contribution helped us reach our fantastic total of £547

The Impact of Our Donation

Every pound raised supports South Essex Wildlife Hospital’s mission to give animals a second chance at life. Their team provides rescue, veterinary care, rehabilitation, and public advice, all while relying heavily on volunteers and donations from the community.

Knowing our contribution will help feed, treat, and care for local wildlife—especially during the harsh winter months—makes this fundraising effort something we are truly proud of.

A Big Thank You

We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone at Assent Risk Management who took part, organised activities, donated prizes, or simply joined in the fun. Your support made this possible.

And of course, thank you to South Essex Wildlife Hospital for their extraordinary commitment to animal welfare. We’re honoured to contribute to such a vital cause.
